The next theme for the PANZ Nail Art Challenge is “Inspired by a movie, book or game“. I chose Totoro as my film and was inspired by this Totoro mani. I used 365 Days of Color Ice Queen on my ring finger which is a thermal colour changing polish with a base that changes from white to blue. However, mine didn’t seem to want to change colour regardless of whether it was cold or hot! Nevertheless I love the look of Ice Queen as well as its versatility which is shown at the end of this post along wih details of the other polishes used in this mani.
I also experimented with acrylic paints for the first time and used white acrylic paint for Totoro’s tummy on the index finger. I found it much easier to use acrylic paint for fine detail work but found that nail polish worked better for larger areas. This can be seen with Totoro’s tummy on the middle finger which looks much more smoother and brighter than the acrylic paint version on the index.
You may have also noticed that my nail shape has changed! The squoval shape on my long nails was making my fingers look a bit chunky so I decided to try oval nails. I’m loving how they look so far! Here’s a bonus macro shot of two coats of 365 Days of Color Ice Queen layered over OPI Pussy Galore. I loved the effect and will definitely be buying a full sized bottle of Ice Queen when I get the chance! OPI Pussy Galore is a light pink shimmer liquid sand texture polish that is fully opaque in two coats.
